Historian Sasha Goldstein-Sabbah received her doctorate from Leiden University in 2019. She is the author of Baghdadi Jewish Networks in the Age of Nationalism and co-editor of Modernity, Minority, and the Public Sphere: Jews and Christians in the Middle East. Sasha is currently the digital curator of the Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam. As of August 2021 she will be Assistant Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Groningen.
Sociolinguist Benjamin Hary is director of New York University Tel Aviv and Professor of Judaic and Hebrew Studies at NYU. Hary earned his PhD in Near Eastern Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and is especially interested in the connection between language and religion. His books include Multiglossia in Judeo-Arabic, Translating Religion, Languages in Jewish Communities, Past and Present, and the forthcoming Sacred Texts in Judeo-Arabic.
