TELLTALE SIGNS OF  A  DIFFERENT KIND…..

 

A previous essay in the Expired and Inspired Blog (on tatoos) led me to question what we, as chevre members should do - if anything – if we were confronted with a mait/a that appeared to have been either neglected or abused. 

Might anyone with a legal background care to offer a suggestion as to what chevre's should do should we ever be faced with such an issue?

Simple answer . . . There is no confidentiality in Judaism. If you see signs of abuse you should report it. You don’t know if someone else might be in danger.
Similarly, if I confess to murder to my Rabbi and s/he thinks I may be a danger to others s/he has an obligation to report me to the authorities.
