Humble Bundle Keys Are Temporarily Exhausted For This Product

<div>I redeemed Mafia Definitive Edition from my January 2022 bundle (shows as redeemed on my Choice page) but there are no keys available. The website says humble will email me when keys are back in stock, but from people's experience does this ever happen?</div><div></div><div></div><div>My first ever bundle purchase was the bundle "the ultimate racing sim bundle - victory lap" on August 17th, 2023. I've gotten the email saying "your humble bundle order is ready". I was able to reveal the codes for three of the seven items but I haven't been able to reveal the codes for the last remaining four items. When I try to reveal the codes I get "keys are temporarily exhausted for this product" for the last remaining fives codes. Sometimes they will be available again, sometimes they won't. From what I read here in the forums free keys hardly get replaced, keys from bundles most times will.</div><div></div><div></div><div>But today I bought a game from their store (Post Human W.A.R.) and I got the "Keys are temporarily exhausted" message.</div><div></div><div>Really, IGN?</div><div></div><div>If a product is temporarily exhausted, you pull the product from the shelves and refrain from selling it until you get resupplied. Or at least you disable the buying option and add a "Not available at the moment" text.</div><div></div><div>IGN did neither.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Of course I contacted support and maybe it will get fixed, maybe I will get my key in the future when they are resupplied with keys. But until that happens (if it ever will), they have my money and I paid for nothing but air.</div><div></div><div>Maybe I should chargeback and tell them "Sorry Humble, my money is temporarily exhausted. I am working hard on getting new money. As soon as I will, I will pay you."</div><div></div><div></div><div>TL;DR: Keys sold in a store should never be "Temporarily exhausted". It is the sellers duty to either pull the product for a limited time or make sure that keys are available. But at IGN/Humble Bundle, things work differently.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I would imagine they will provide a key once they get more, but I do remember this happening in the past with a bundle where they weren't able to get more keys, so they just never provided any. I think it might say somewhere "while supplies last" or something like that so they don't have to provide keys if they run out.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Humble doesn't assign you a key when you buy the bundle, they assign it when you reveal the key on your account. Ever since this happened last time, I started revealing all my Humble keys right when I buy the bundle instead of waiting until I am ready to use them.</div><div></div><div></div><div>thats also true. but according to humble the keys should be activated in a certain time frame, thats what you see when you get your bundle.</div><div></div><div>its up to the devs to revoke the keys after this time frame or leave them beeing valid. in the end, its still the fact that you should activate the game asap, so it doesnt sit unused for months</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>in my opinion they should never expire since you bought your copy like you do when you get it from a physical store. i hate that some devs revoke the keys just to make sure that you cant resell them or trade. not sure if humble or the developers, or if both came up with this shitty idea.</div><div></div><div></div><div>"I do apologize as bundle keys and store keys are from separate key pools with a separate partner or contractual agreements tied to them. But it's definitely not fraud. Fraud is when someone intentionally fucks you over. Same for theft and scam. Call me again when 50% or more of the bundles end up with problems providing keys. Until it's such a little number of keys for one or two specific games in a very specific bundle then let's keep it at an issue which has to be solved without crying rivers.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Straight away. As soon as I bought the bundle on September 30th, those keys were "temporarily" out. I thought they'd be restocked in a week or two, so didn't sweat. (They were still selling the bundle with exhausted keys, and no warning about that.)</div><div></div><div></div><div>If they don't put a lid on this and the word gets out that the keys from everyone's bundles aren't reliably available, they will start to have real problems. More and more people will lose their trust and rush to redeem everything they have and we will have a cascading "run on the bank".
