Description:
South Academy of International Languages (S.A.I.L.) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Japanese Language Immersion Teacher for our elementary school program. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering student growth, passionate about the Japanese language and culture, and experienced in delivering transformative instruction in a full immersion environment. As a Japanese Language Immersion Teacher, you will teach core subjects, including math, science, and social studies, aligned with the North Standard Course of Study (NC SCOS), entirely in Japanese. -Implement a comprehensive Japanese language immersion curriculum for elementary students aligned with North Carolina Curriculum standards.
-Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons across core subjects, focusing on language acquisition.
-Create a classroom environment that captures the culture and language, both orally and in print.
-Assess student progress and design interventions to support continuous academic growth toward grade-level expectations.
-Develop specialized instructional materials in Japanese to support the NC SCOS, using visual aids, real objects, and manipulative materials.
Engage with parents to foster support for students' progress in the language immersion program.
-Collaborate with colleagues teaching other target languages (French, Chinese, German) and with Japanese immersion teachers to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
Participate in various school meetings, including staff meetings and PTSO meetings.
Track student academic progress, creating assessments such as tests, quizzes, and projects.
-Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and abilities.
-Establish and enforce classroom rules and create a respectful, inclusive environment.
-Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
