UnderConfigure Shutdown for "Run this command file (full name): I have "C:\APC_Server_Shutdown\shutdown_untangle.cmd" without the quotes (i also tried with the quotes) and it does not work when I run a test. To test I used the same command file under "COnfigure Event for UPS: On Battery and then I pull the pull. The Windows 2012 server shutdown gracefully but not the Untangle.
You need to be sure to enter the full path to the cmd file for PowerChute to be able to run it. So, for the test you did if you put the test .cmd in C:temp the path entered in Powerchute would be C:\temp\test file name.cmd PowerChute will then create the text file cmdtest.txt in C:\apctest.
PCNS is installed using local system account so you need to be sure the local system account has permission to run the script. If the local system account does not you can change the account PCNS used via PCNS1 service.
Here is some other general information we have you could start with if you haven't seen it yet -> Command file is not running within PowerChute Network Shutdown: How to check correct syntax usage. ...
but i have two network cables one going from the router to the switch and the the other to untangle when i unplug the cable going from the switch to the router the internet goes off which means traffic isnt going through the untangle box.
and yes Mark i have got all the updates but only because i have two connections one directly from the router to the switch and one from the untangle box to the router for some reason with both these in i get an internet connection but when i disconnect the one from router to the switch i lose all connections and i have made sure the connection is the external.
In bridge mode you can only set obe IP addtress which should be an internal ip address. Are you still using your router as the gateway address? have you made sure your firewall is open to atleast let web through? is anything showing in any of the reports saying something is blocked? From the sounds of it your trying to access internet from the same subnet so you shouldnt need to add any routes to the routing tables. With everything connected as it should be (minus router to switch cable) can you get to the untangle box or cant you get to that? On the untangle machine its self open the browser and try to get internet does that work? Or go into config/networking/test and try pinging stuff either side, can you get anything either way?
I have attached an image of my NIC settings let me know if there is any problems with that, yes i am still using the router as the gateway address (192.168.60.100) nothing is showing in the reports that something has been blocked i tried it exactly the way it should be setup i couldnt get onto the internet but i could ping the router and local machines at the office
I take it you were pinging from untangle? Try pinging further out to
google.com if that doesnt work try 209.85.227.147. If the number works its just your untangle box not getting DNS which is a point actually, you are allowing DNS through on the firewall? If none of them work but you can ping the router then I would say something odd is going on with the router which is unlikely. If you can ping all the way out from untangle but not from the lan then there has to be a rule somewhere that is blocking traffic somewhere.
Excellent Mark i Found it all this time it was the router i needed to enable DMZ as soon as i did that it all seemed to just work thanks alot for all your help wouldnt have even thought to look at the router to be honest
also Mrunkel i know exactly what you mean i did already think of untangle as a cable with it been in bridge mode it was my first project with something like this so i didnt know much so thankyou for your help
For a long time, I have wanted to ingest untangle logs (Firewall, IDS/IPS, OpenVpn, and Web Filtering) into Splunk to write security rules, etc. I am surprised this wasn't done before however I completed this and it was worth struggle.
Currently on Untangle - Untangle is really upsetting me. My upload speeds have decrease from 700 to 17.. and they refuse to help actually speak to me, this happened after they auto renews my license. Why choose sophos? is there anyone out there who was using untangle and switch to sophos ?
Thanks for the responses, let me ask that second one a different way , can i use the same key first use it on a vm to pay with it, then use the same key on bare metal if i so desire to use the firewall, or will a new key with a new account have to be created?
Baby powder or corn starch can be sprinkled on the knot and worked into the knot. Either one absorbs the body oils that contribute to the tendency to form knots. Then, use pins to tease the chain apart.Source: Personal experience working with jewelry at Thrift Store.
I found that a large amount of dish soap to help the knot slip and slide and two sets of tweezers to allow one to grip individual links of delicate chains works well. Also a magnifying light that allows you to see exactly which links of the chain are connected to which can be really helpful too.
In the past I've used a knife with a sharp point to help 'pick' away at a knotted necklace of my wife's. It admittedly took a few evenings but I've untangled chains that normally she would just have thrown away.
hmm I am thinking of putting the necklace in a bowl of hot water (if it doesn't damage the necklace), since it makes the knock to expand and it makes a bit loose then you can use a needle to further loosen the knock and eventually open it with your hands.
I find a needle works really well. I stick pointed end right into knot, gently work needle in a circle, as it gets loose enough to pull away so room to grasp between finger tips from that point it will continue to loosen so repeat the steps.
The object you get back represents the complete XML document. Child elements can be accessed with parent.child, attributes with element['attribute']. Siblings with similar names are grouped into a list.
untangle is available for that use case, where you have a 20-line XML file you got back from an API and you just need to extract some values out of it. You might not want to use regular expressions, but just as well you might not want to install a complex libxml2-based solution (and look up its terse API).
Be aware that with certain characters or maybe also depending on the python version you might get an error on accessing specific attributes, such as UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xfc' in position 385: ordinal not in range(128)In most cases it should be enough to import the sys module, and set utf-8 as encoding, with:
Good morning - I inherited a large workflow from a colleague and would like to 'untangle' it, similar to a cleaning up a bunch of cables all spaghetti'ed together. Is there a way to follow a connection? Is there a way to hide all the upstream tools from this connection? This would make following the workflow much simpler.
Sometimes when you insert a tool (like a Select) in the earlier stages of a workflow, this then tabulates the downstream tools to default distances. This can help, but sometimes it then makes connections to parallel flows look messy. So use in appropriate circumstances.
In terms of hiding groups of tools, you could add them into a Container, then minimise the container when you don't want to see them. Then drag single or groups of tools out of the container as you're ready to place them as you want them.
One final tip might be to turn certain connections to wireless. Don't over use these, because then it is hard to see at a glance where the connection goes to, but this method certainly has its place when trying to tidy up a messy workflow.
Thx - these are helpful. Is there a way to - I should have been clearer - jump to the next downstream tool once a connection is highlighted, without having to zoom out to see where the connection goes, and then zoom in again to see exactly what this next tool is? All this scrolling about and zooming in/out is tedious. Ideally I'd be looking at a tool, click on a connection from it, and then hit a keyboard shortcut - I am not a fan of mice - to get to the downstream tool this connection goes to, at the same zoom level, with this next tool now centered on screen. That way, one could easily walk through and untangle a workflow.
Thx - I've been zooming in and out with Ctrl and the 0-5, which works well, similar to what you describe. Is there a way, though, to automatically get to this next tool (e.g. a 'go to downstream tool' keyboard shortcut) without having to manually follow the connection to it, that is, follow the red dataflow thread as it were? Thx again.
When you want to jump to that next thing, your next big step, you have to take care of yourself. You prepare yourself for a soft landing however you can. And then? You leap. You write the book. You start the big edit wherever you can. You query the agents. You see how else you can pay the mortgage. Is it easy? Hell no. Are a lot of people successful? Not as many as we would like! But how many widget companies sell a million widgets on their first go? How many small businesses make it to their fifth anniversary? How many strike out and how many hit a home run? (Metaphors on metaphors.) It should be easier to be an artist! The government should bring back the WPA and socialize medicine, or at the very least crack down on the broken system we have. People should buy more books and publishers should pay authors more money! I want these things, too.
