Our dear most family
This is rhea and nimmy writing to you with a small problem in left eye and right hand.
As we think back and stand in front of the throne of God we are very very thankful to Jesus and to you our family for your love ,your pain for us, your prayers, your presence, your words of support, your homes, the food and for all those wonderful jokes which we share even in times of struggle(the real Jy style).Yes friends we meant the joyful spirituality that we share was so expressive when each one of you came to visit us and called us. As we writhe this we want to share few of our experiences.
This last one month was a beautiful exodus, all the formations we have been receiving through the movement helped us and our families to go through this time with a lot of hope.
Rhea: when they said that i need to shave my head for the surgery i felt really sad because my face had already been disfigured with me having no courage even to look into the mirror, but when they were cutting my hair, my Lord reminded me the movie of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare which i saw during one of my Jy training programmes(master builders)the scene that came in my mind was Saint Clare happily coming to cut her hair to join the congregation, then i started praising God happily saying let your will be done. Before the major surgery, during the time of severe pain i was able to be positive and hopeful and in between the lord was sending his people to encourage me with the word of god. I still remember when i used o say to the teens when we screen movies for them that whatever you watch in all these movies in programs will help you somewhere in your live.
When we thanked all the families ( James uncle and Tessy Aunty, Siju Chetan amd Rani Chechi, Jancy Aunty and Antony uncle, Shyju and Anu, Johann) with whom we stayed after the accident – all that they told us was that they were only caretakers of the home, the car, the money and all resources that God has provided them with.
Nimmy: Being in my sixth month of pregnancy with my second child and a 1 year toddler did not stop me from doing any household chores, was fully independent. But this accident for the first time in my life made me fully dependent on my family; it was a very humbling experience for me. I am speechless when i remember the way i was looked after by Alex my spouse and the family (Nishan and Nishamol) with whom we stayed. I remember the time we crashed, spontaneous praises were flowing and in a split second though our life changed, never did we feel depressed about it instead i always thank god that our lives were spared and that Alex, Johny, baby Nick, baby George and the unborn baby did not even have a scar
What amazes me and rhea is that our spiritual journey and warfare was always together. We first met and started out in the national teens team India– which we still treasure as the most blessed time of our youth. Our JY fellowship extended beyond and as we got married and moved – Jesus once again brought us together to work with JY Australia. We travelled together and the most amazing is even though we were taken to different hospitals – the major surgery was on the same day and we were blessed to get prayers from all Jesus youth and especially to be the first prayer intention at Fr. Bony’s First Mass.
Today Rhea and Johny are travelling back to Darwin and Alex and Nimmy are back at home in Brisbane. We still need your prayers for Johny’s court case on August 16th, for rhea’s recovery as the doctors have asked for a close monitoring in the next 6 months, for nimmy’s safe delivery and hand recovery, Alex Ielts and our mothers visa.
We thank Nishan chetan who gave us his car,Reji chetten and Geetha chechi, our Fr. Thomas , our Jy Brothers and Sisters – Vejo, Swapna, Stephy, Saumya, Viji, Shan, Praveen, Shobha, Angel , Ancy, Gigi chetten and family, Victoria aunty, Gracianand Shetal, Jiss chetan, Jojo Chetan,Anil and Bini and all of you.
With all our love and thanks
Johny, Rhea, Alex, Nimmy, Baby Nick and Baby George
