I am writing this on behalf of the Kings Cricket club and my plea is to request TCL to make adbdomen guards a mandate for all HT games going fwd.

I am writing this because my cousin who lives in NJ was playing HT cricket in a league there last weekend and was batting without an ABD guard was hit on his testicular area by a full toss. He had to be rushed to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with severe internal bleeding and clotting. An immediate surgery had to be performed to open up the sac, pull the injured testicle out and to remove the clots. Though he did not lose his testicle, he is still in danger of possibly living with an organ that may not perform to its potential (Producing testosterone more importantly than anything else). He also may have to lose the one injured testicle if he continues to experience pain even after a few months and may end up living with one for the rest of his life. He is 30 and got married only in Nov last year.

I am sure mandating this and asking the umpires to continuously reinforce and stop players from playing if they don't have this guard is the least TCL can do to prevent to a great extent, similar or worse incidents from happening. Kindly do the needful.
