Hey guys,
Attached are the schedules for the 2016 season. Please review to
make sure you have
Every team will have a home game on alternate weekends. This
maximizes the usage of league grounds and minimizes the permit
fees that your teams and the EC pays for cricket grounds.
Your team will have an umpiring assignment on the weekend that
you have a home game (this way it is easier for you to keep
track of when you have your assignments.) Please feel free to
negotiate umpiring swaps with other teams, but make it official
by exchanging email confirmations.
Division 2:
Pool A will play against Pool D
Pool B will play against Pool C
19 games in the round-robin phase, then knockouts begin with a
round of 32 (top 8 from each pool)
Division 1 (A significant change):
Division 1 teams will play across pools, like Division 2.
Pool A will play against Pool B
Pool B will play against Pool A
20 games in the round-robin phase, then knockouts begin with a
round of 16 (top 8 from each pool)
This way, we avoid giving Division 1 a weekend off after
round-robin as Division 2's round of 32 catches up.
In each Div1 pool, half of the teams will have home games on
alternate Saturdays and the other half will have home games on
alternate Sundays. There is a possibility that rain-outs affect
teams unevenly but it is no worse than our previous rain-outs
which tended to washout only half of the games.
Teams that have requested grounds: I will send out ground
allocations later today.
Thanks,
Rizwan
On behalf of
the EC
