We traveled down St Marys river to Cumberland Island and anchored by the ranger station. This way we could ride the ebb tide out and then leave in the morning at a different time to catch the flood tide at Brunswick. The anchorage was surprisingly large and deep, much bigger than the charts show. We saw some of the wild horses at night and a couple of armadillos in the day. Unfortunately Nicholas did not see one. I wanted to see his reaction.

So we pulled anchor at 6:30 AM to get a good run out and up to Brunswick. As we got to the ocean channel though we were instructed to pull 200 yards outside of the channel for a Navy vessel coming in.

Our tax money at work.

There was a ton of security around it.

Wow.
