It's Mary Tivy here with the first Jenny-care posting.

Dave thinks that Jenny will not be home from the hospital before this
coming Friday, October 29. To date we have determined through various
emails that:

1. Annette will be the food coordinator: Thanks Annette! Anyone who
wants to do food, please let Annette know here, and she can get back
to you.

2. Louise has offered to pay for Jenny's home visits from her RMT.

3. Ilona has palliative care experience as a nurse's aid. Mary has
some experience in this area. The palliative care work may be bathing
Jenny, helping her with her toilet, giving meds, etc. This is helpful
to spell off Dave and other primary care-givers.

4. Cindy would like to have a meeting at her house on Queen St. for
all those of us interested in helping Jenny. Cindy: Could you list
meeting times that work for you? It's unlikely everyone can attend
whatever time we set...

5. If you know of someone else who wants to join the group, membership
is open. They just need to go to google group Jenny-care and
subscribe.

In case some of you were not on Dave Hale's (Jenny's brother) email list: he is available if care-givers are going to meet this Friday night. So am I - Mary Tivy

Hello all
What a great group! Re meeting - I feel that it would be good to put some faces to names (though I'm sure we have all met before at the many Anderson-Hale events) and that we would be better able to come to a common understanding that is not as easily accomplished through email.  The goal being to be as helpful as we can without overwhelming Dave, Jenny and the girls.
Having said that here are some dates

• thurs oct 28 evening
• fri oct 29 evening
• sat oct 30 afternoon
• mon nov 1 evening
• wed nov 2 evening
• thurs nov 3 evening    (I could go on)

If you feel strongly about attending, please let me know and I will coordinate a date that works.

I think it is so great to hear from everyone who is in this group. Thanks Mary for setting it up. It truly breaks my heart that we are at this stage in Jenny's life,  but I am so glad there are so many people in her life who want to be a part of caring for when she comes home.  I will not be able to be there frequently because of distance, but I plan to try to come to Guleph once a week or so and will bring some food with me. I will let everyone know when I am coming. Also, I may try to attend whenever you all are meeting - let me know.

I could join the meeting on Saturday October 30th, later in the afternoon.  I live in Brampton, but will be in Guelph

taking Betty out for a birthday lunch on Saturday.  I may be able to attend an evening next week, but that would be

more difficult.
