Polling multiple SCMs in a pipeline

Hi! 

I see the recommendation for replacing https://plugins.jenkins.io/multiple-scms/ is to use a pipeline with multiple checkout directives.

What would be the best way to trigger such a pipeline when any one of those SCMs has a change?

I suppose we could have a bunch of jobs that poll each of the SCMs and downstream the pipeline. I'm hoping there's a way that doesn't involve these lightweight jobs.
