[workflow-plugin] unarchive fail to create file on slave

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask about this, but it looks like I ran into a but with Jenkins workflow-plugin.

Try this workflow-plugin groovy code:

The plugin erroneously tries to create a directory named pom.xml, instead of creating a workspace directory.  This issue does NOT occur if the first step in the node() is something other than unarchive.  Here is the stacktrace:

Not sure what you are seeing here but I would suggest narrowing it down to a minimal reproducible test case and filing a bug report in JIRA.
