When I run "/usr/bin/security find-identity -p codesigning -v" I can see the provisioning profile. I copy and paste the name of the provisioning profile into the Code Signing Identity field under Code signing & OS X keychain options of the Xcode plugin.

When I run the job it fails with this error:
Code Sign error: No matching provisioning profiles found: This product type must be built using a provisioning profile, however no provisioning profile matching the identity “iPhone Developer: John Doe (ABCDEFGHIJ)” was found.
CodeSign error: code signing is required for product type 'Application' in SDK 'iOS 8.2'

In the settings I've unlocked the keychain and make sure that the profile is in the keychain that is unlocked. I can use the provisioning profile to build an app locally. What could be the issue?

As far as I remember, provisioning profiles will be installed per user. Does the user to run Jenkins and the one, that you have used to see if the profile is available, are the same?

Yes Jenkins logs in as the user and the profiles are available. When I run /usr/bin/security find-identity -p codesigning -v" as said user I see the profile.
