Hi

When will the new LTS (1.532.1) be advertised in Jenkins?

Best regards

David

Kohsuke is in Brazil at present, so may not be able to push the changes remotely.

Hi

Does anyone know whether Jenkins 1.532.1 LTS supports the "--sessionTimeout" option introduced in 1.528?

Also, sorry to nag, but will 1.532.1 LTS be advertised soon?

Best regards

David

LTS 1.532.1 is already available and listed when you browse to "Long-Term Support Release".

Since it is based on 1.532 whatever introduced previously in 1.528 was automatically included.  So I say "--sessionTimeout" is a JENKINS JAVA OPTS you can use.

When you go to http://jenkins-ci.org/ and click on "Long-Term Support Release" it still shows 1.509.4, I think this is what he is referring to.

Hi

Ø  Since it is based on 1.532 whatever introduced previously in 1.528 was automatically included.

Ok, thanks. Sorry if that was a stupid question, but the 1.532 release notes don’t mention the ‘--sessionTimeout’ option.

Yes. That’s my point.

I did tell KK about this... but I think the brief window for fixing it has vanished, so new year is the next time it may be fixed... unless KK has the connectivity he needs

The changelog for LTS version X.1 only contains changes since version X.

To learn about the real changes since the previous LTS release (1.509.4), you just:
1. read the changelogs of the weekly releases since the base version of the previous LTS (1.510 - 1.532),
2. discard anything that was already backported to your previous LTS (1.509.4),
3. and ignore fixes and enhancements of features added since your previous LTS' base version (1.509).

It's that simple! ;-)

Sorry for warming up this topic, but I have an additional issue with the site that might also be related (already posted here previously: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/jenkinsci-users/-gZy4kKpk2A): the stable update site does not work since I have updated manually my instance to the 1.532.1 LTS release.

I would be very glad if something could be done about it.

Thanks,
Zoltán

We're looking forward to (read: waiting for) 1.532.1 to be declared as an LTS too! We've put in place a policy to use only LTS, and trying hard not to break that, we really need a bug that's fixed from 1.509.4.

It is an official LTS.... just KK has not updated one part of the website

1.532.1 _is_ an LTS release. [1] lists all LTS ("stable") releases, including 1.532.1, and considers 1.532.1 to be the 'latest' of them.

It's just one label on the home page that's out of date ("Older but stable (1.509.4)"). Click that label. You'll download 1.532.1. Even the changelog[2] has been updated. And Stephen Connolly wrote on Dec 4 on the dev list:

> 1.532.1 is ready... we are just driving KK like mad doing stuff in CloudBees and he hasn;t had time to push the changes to the website

Thanks Daniel, I just kept checking at that one label on the home page that's out of date.

Also when you install it, it is branded with "Jenkins ver.
1.532.1-SNAPSHOT (rc-11/13/2013 21:34 GMT-kohsuke)" (on the page
footer) which makes me at least hesitant to put it into production and
face all the questions.

Well, this is interesting as I have an installation with a non-snapshot version (for at least a month now). I have downloaded this as the latest stable version, if I recall correctly.

Still, I do have problems with the update site (so I understand your issues... )

Cheers,
Zoltán

Hmm - thanks for sharing that. I updated a sandbox last month. I will
do it again to see what results I get.
