Does the EC2 plugin write logs?

I'm trying to investigate an issue where the EC2 plugin is not creating slaves as expected, and actively cancels the slaves I launch manually using the drop down menu on the /computer page. It would be helpful if the plugin has a log where it logs its actions and reasons. Does such a log exist?
