Maven build unstable on success

We have a maven3 build which was working fine, but now it continually
reports as unstable even though the build is successful. I have pored
over the build logs and can't find any sign of an error or failure
message.

Downstream builds are all successful, so they are not the cause.

I have also done a fresh checkout on my own machine and built it,
which was also successful.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

I am using Jenkins 1.420 on linux.

Can you post your build log somewhere? Is there anything in the Jenkins logs in addition to the console log for the actual build?

It seems there is some problem with the post build step doing an scp
to deploy.

Are you using the publish over scp plugin or a different one? If PoScp, I'd recommend filing an issue on it. I'm sure Bap wouldn't mind :-)

We are using publish over ssh. The problem was that somehow/someone
changed the permissions on the target directory.

The error was there in the log all along but I was blind to it because
I was looking for "failure" somewhere:
ERROR: Exception when publishing, exception message [Permission
denied]

All working now, thanks for your help!
