Cannot add user to Jenkins.

Has anybody ever had problems removing a user from Jenkins? What I am seeing is that I need to add a user but it keeps getting rejected within ‘Configure Global Security’. He can log on to all other systems no problem but it is just Jenkins that is producing a rejection.

I did a packet capture of the Jenkins master to the ldap server for a successful add and this failure and this shows that Jenkins is not sending the request.

I had a search on the internet etc, and did what it says there, re-booted the master but this user is still rejected.

 

Has anybody seen anything like this, or do you have any idea about what could be causing this? It is just occurring for one particular user, this user was once on ok but we had a crash and I think that something has been left behind in the Jenkins config.
