Saving the first failure

I have tried without success to use the Build Keeper Plugin. On three different Jenkins implementations, I have yet to see the plugin's features appear on a single menu, anywhere. Back in October, I opened JENKINS-25293 about this, but in three months not a single person has commented on it. Neither have I found any relevant bugs or posts on this topic in this forum.

The plugin's original developer, known to me only as "bap", commented on another post (in JENKINS-17058) that s/he would not be maintaining it any further, and otherwise has not commented on any Jenkins posts since April 2013. The last change to the plugin was in April 2012.

Looks like 60 people have installed it since I filed 25293. Am I entirely missing some aspect of this plugin? How is this working for anyone else? What am I doing wrong? But if I am not alone, are we dead in the water if we want to use this plugin?
