Hi!

I just wanted to use ldap for jenkins as security realm.

When entering our server under Access Control > LDAP > 'server', i get the red error message: unknown server.
When i try to ping the ldap server from the same machine, the pinging works.

Where do i go from here? I had a look in the jenkins log und system logs > all, but could not find anything there.

Thanks!

Hi stardust,

it is a bit challenging to setup ldap the first time.
I will try to reflect the config page as a screenshot cannot be post
afaik.

Contiuing from the server text field with an example config it would
look like this.

LDAP
Server: DC01

[Advanced... button/area]
root-DN: OU=an%20organizational%20unit,DC=group,DC=yourdomain,DC=com
User search base: {in my case empty}
User search filter: sAMAccountName={0}
Group search base: {in my case empty}
Manager-DN: CN=Nightbuild (Night build service
user),OU=Nightbuild,OU=Service Accounts,an%20organizational
%20unit,DC=group,DC=yourdomain,DC=com
Manager password: **************

The manager DN is an account that is entitled to query user account
information.

Hope this helps.
Jan
