jenkins-plugins: which version is the latest?

i have a array with names of a some jenkins-plugins and need the current version-number (only the information, wich version is the latest) of each plugin. 

Any idea, how i can get this information?

the array is generated by myself. 

i have a small ruby-script that collected all plugins via the jenkins-api.

currently: ['plugin_1', 'plugin_2', 'plugin_3']
