Jenkins Maven public repository returns HTTP 405 error

Hi, following plugin tutorial I'm trying to connect to
https://repo.jenkins-ci.org/public but I get a HTTP 405 Not Allowed
error. Is there another URL? I see that
https://repo.jenkins-ci.org/remote-repos/ is fine but I'm not sure of
the equivalence.
