Is simple theme plugin not supported anymore ?

Hello,

I have the jenkins version 1.580.3, I am trying to add a css file using simple theme plugin to change the look and feel of our server but the css appears to be masking all jenkins options(left side bar) and build executer status etc. 

Same css file I am using on another jenkins(version  1.565.2)  works fine.  Is simple theme plugin no longer supported ? Is there any alternative?

I guess this is due to the numerous changes in the Jenkins UI redesign that started around 1.572 and after.

With the way that plugin seems to work (overriding/adding CSS IIUC), I guess this is gonna be difficult if not impossible to be backward compatible.

From the last release date, it does not seem very active (so, unmaintained now?) but maybe it's because it's simple & small and didn't need much work (at least now I guess there should be some work to make it usable with last versions).
