Zombie jobs in the build executor status

Hi all,

We have a problem with two zombie jobs in the build executor status, which cannot be terminated or removed (they are only visible in the executor status). They are both related to pipeline branches, which no longer exist.

• The jobs cannot be removed by clicking on the red crosses in the executor status (nothing happens when accepting to delete). The log states :

Failed to interrupt steps in Owner[MozartApplication/csl-launcher-refactor/1:MozartApplication/csl-launcher-refactor #1]

java.lang.IllegalStateException: completed or broken execution

• The jobs cannot be removed from the script console as described here : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/14456592/how-to-stop-an-unstoppable-zombie-job-on-jenkins-without-restarting-the-server. The script reports that the jobs are not found.

• Restarting the server doesn't help. The jobs are simply resumed (??)

Any ideas?

Is the build executor status persisted somewhere and can be deleted?

Problem solved.

We had some old workspace folders with names like '<build job name>@tmp/durable<something>'. Deleting these and restarting jenkins solved the problem.
