Hi,

We've set up a number of Pipeline builds on Jenkins, and for some reason none of the jobs are showing up in the Node build history (although non-pipeline jobs do).  Is there something you need to do in the configuration or the Jenkinsfile to enable this?

Thanks...

Hi Tim,

It's not necessary to configure anything special. Please, could you provide more information? Such as Jenkins version, what steps you've followed to set up them, some screenshots and whatever useful in order to understand what's happening.

Best regards,
Rachel

Hi,

The configuration is one master (Jenkins v2.27) and 20 nodes, all Linux x86-64 RHEL VMs.  The nodes were set up using the 'Launch slave agents on Unix machines using SSH' method. If you click on node and select 'Build History', nothing shows up (except in those nodes that have run non-Pipeline builds).

You can see from the 'Load Statistics' screenshot that builds have occurred, but the 'Build History' shows nothing...

Hi Tim,

Thank you, I've understood your problem and I've checked that it happens even with only a master: pipeline jobs aren't shown in that view.

Please, could you create an issue in https://issues.jenkins-ci.org with your information? Meanwhile, I'm going to try to discover the reason.

Best regards,
Rachel

Hi Tim,

Sorry, I meant builds from pipeline jobs aren't shown in that view. I've noticed they are registered internally as "flow-build" whereas builds from non-pipeline jobs are registered as "build". I'll keep on searching.

Thanks for your notification.

Best regards,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

I went to create the issue and saw this:

Looks like it's not going to be implemented (at least not in the same manner)...?

Hi Tim,

Sorry, I didn't find that issue, thank you. Its comment is reasonable.

It's a pity, because I'd found the source code for showing builds in Build History for a job (it works for Pipeline jobs) and the source code for showing builds in Build History for a node, and I were looking for differences. I think we must wait for new analytic capabilities. I'm sure we'll be surprised. Pipeline is powerful and I think I've just seen the tip of the iceberg.

Best regards,
Rachel
