Jenkins / Bug JENKINS-33339
Volumes are not deleted on instance termination
Issue Type: Bug Bug
Assignee: Francis Upton
Components: ec2-plugin
Created: 06/Mar/16 1:32 PM
Environment: Jenkins 1.651
ec2-plugin 1.31
Priority: Minor Minor
Reporter: André Gaul

Instances are terminated properly but the EBS volumes are not removed. I can see in the AWS console that the property "Delete on termination" is set to False for these jenkins instances. This is very annoying since I have to manually remove all these volumes.

I use the plugin in eu-central-1. I'm also sure that the deletion worked properly a few months ago (back then I used eu-west-1).

Can you confirm this issue? Or is there a workaround?

Re: Volumes are not deleted on instance termination

I was able to fix this by creating the AMI with the property "Delete on termination: True". However, it would be nice if the plugin is able to override the AMI default.
