Jenkins / Bug JENKINS-61451
Kubernetes plugin version 1.25.0 failed to load
Issue Type: Bug Bug
Assignee: Unassigned
Components: kubernetes-plugin
Created: 2020-03-12 10:31
Environment: Jenkins: 2.204.5
os: rhel 7
Labels: plugin
Priority: Minor Minor
Reporter: Sascha Vujevic

Hello developers,

we have updated Jenkins to version 2.204.5.

During the start we can see following error:

java.io.IOException: Kubernetes plugin version 1.25.0 failed to load.

  • You must update Jenkins from version 2.204.5 to version 2.217 or later to run this plugin.

We have tested the previous kubernetes-plugin version and Jenkins 2.204.5 and it works.

Thank you for your help.

The kubernetes plugin in the version  1.25.0 can't be used with the current lts version of jenkins.

So? The update center shouldn't offer versions you can't install so the only way this could happen happen is by installing the plugin manually, which is your responsibility.

The version requirement is mentioned in the release notes

https://github.com/jenkinsci/kubernetes-plugin/releases/tag/kubernetes-1.25.0
