Michał Gliniecki created an issue

Jenkins / Bug JENKINS-55471
Git fetch timeout
Issue Type: Bug Bug
Assignee: Mark Waite
Attachments: fetch-timeout.txt
Components: git-client-plugin, git-plugin
Created: 2019-01-09 08:56
Environment: Jenkins 2.155
git-plugin 3.9.1
git-client 2.7.5
Labels: git-client git-plugin
Priority: Blocker Blocker
Reporter: Michał Gliniecki

I recently updated my git-client plugin to 2.7.5. After that jobs began to timeout during fetching repository. It happened on 2 different repositories before I made a rollback to the 2.7.4 version which fixed this issue for me.

Mark Waite updated Bug JENKINS-55471

The message in the fetch-timeout.txt file indicates that the failure is truly a timeout due to the clone time. Changes from git client plugin 2.7.4 to 2.7.5 have no relationship to any area of the code that would involve timeout.

For hints on managing large git repositories, refer to my 2017 "Git in the Large" slides and to my 2016 "Large git repositories" slides, both from Jenkins World lightning talks.
