Project idea: Revive Translation Assistance plugin?

I have watched with amazement as the UI Samples plugin has been revived and transformed into the Jenkins Design Library.

Allow me to plant a seed and suggest that it might be neat to do the same for the Translation Assistance plugin: https://plugins.jenkins.io/translation/

This plugin adds a "Help us localize this page" decorator to the footer, which (when clicked) gives the user the ability to translate strings and submit them to a central server (which has apparently been shut down for years).

The brilliance of this was that it lowered the barrier to entry. Anyone could click on the link and submit translations with very little effort.

We do not have a custom server anymore, but I understand we are now using CrowdIn. Perhaps this plugin could be revitalized to submit translations to CrowdIn rather than a custom server. Or perhaps the "Help us localize this page" link could just direct the user to the appropriate page on CrowdIn.

The point is that by lowering the barrier to entry, we might be able to get more contributions.
