Become contributor to Nested View Plugin

Hi,

A few Months ago, I have created a bugfix and a Pull Request to the Nested View Plugin. Recently, other people showed interest in this fix but it seems that no one is merging/accepting the pull request. A contributor of the project asked me if I would want to take over the project which I would very much like to do.

What are the next steps for becoming a contributor to this project?
