Hi,

I'm having trouble releasing the xvnc-plugin using mvn release:prepare release:perform. It all seem to have gone well but the plugin was not uploaded. I didn't see any errors and the build was successful. What could be the problem?

Also I've tried the -Dusername=levsa and -Dpassword flags as suggested in https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Hosting+Plugins but that didn't work at all. Got messages about unknown host levsa.

What are the manual steps to deploy a plugin? Using the release plugin never works smoothly for me.

Hello,

have you checked the Workaround section in the page you mentioned? There has been a lot of reported issues because of mixing old maven-release-plugin and recent git versions.

Thanks, I had checked but now I tried #1 with manual version number for release plugin and it worked... almost. The upload was done to http://maven.jenkins-ci.org:8081/content/repositories/releases/org/jenkins-ci/plugins/xvnc/1.20/ and this version doesn't show up among the updates or at http://updates.jenkins-ci.org/download/plugins/xvnc/ which still has 1.18 (the old version).

Does it get copied automatically after some time, or did I still miss something?

Thanks! Almost there now, the wiki page shows the update and some mirrors have updated json file, but not all, and my jenkins installation doesn't show the new version as available.

The help page links to this job:

which is disabled and not run since 6 nov. Is something wrong there?

Yes, Kohsuke not updated this wiki page, see new job https://ci.jenkins-ci.org/view/Infrastructure/job/infra_update_center_v3/

Ok, thanks! It seems to have been processed. The new version still doesn't show up as update on some jenkins instances I'm looking at, but maybe it is a matter of time.

Thanks for the responses!
