QueueListener when pipeline node command is waiting?

I know about the RunListener, and QueueListener... were do I hook into on the front of detecting a node execution.   Basically, want to have an alert system to slack if a developer executes a "node" command and it's been waiting for a while, or in some cases days till someone notices.   Just need a starting point here.
