How is this different from the other docker plugins that already exist and would seem to achieve the same end goal?

it would be better for the community to only have a single well maintained plugin for a specific task - so what does yours do differently - could you not improve the existing plugins if they didn't do something that you need?

alternatively to the maintainers of those other plugins - does this do enough to superceed all of these plugins that it is worth having a single plugin and would you be willing to contribute to this?

Thanks for pointing these plugins out.  Took a long time to get this open sourced, so at the time there was only the docker plugin (jenkins slaves in containers).  Ill have to reevaluate the world again to see if this plugin still needs to exist, or can be merged with another plugin.

After quickly scanning the wiki pages, Oki Docki Plugin might be doing the same thing if I am reading it correctly; will have to play with it to see.

Ill update this post with my findings.  If non of these projects do the same thing as mine, then ill try to see if this can be merged with a existing plugin.

Update:

Took a look at Oki Docki and found that it is very early stages for the project. What the two projects do are very similar, but don't feel that it would be the best place to store this logic.  I have created https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-26341 to request merging CIBorium with docker-build-step plugin.

It's actually very comparable to Oki-Docki (I created) that for sure is recent (as all docker plugins !) but just does his job afaict.

I'm not sure I understand the exact use case and why you consider it would better fit in docker-build-step-plugin
