Adopt gitlab-branch-source plugin

Following Basil Crow's suggestion in https://github.com/jenkinsci/gitlab-branch-source-plugin/pull/495#issuecomment-3110170665, I am stepping forward to become a maintainer of the gitlab-branch-source plugin.

I am mostly interested in merging the two mentioned Pull Requests. The second one will be ported to the correct 'jenkinsci' repo after the first one is merged.
