Hello everybody,

Since 2 weeks ago, I'm participating in Subversion Plugin [1]. Some
tasks I've been doing:

1) Analyze a brunch of issues in order to know the current status
2) Request information to reporters and participants to get
well-documented bugs (i.e. here [2] [3])
3) Give feedback
4) Resolve bugs
5) Release latest version: 2.5.1

I would like to continue on this way and I believe it would be more
comfortable for me and the community, if I can maintain the plugin.

Regards,

Obviously, I wanted to say "bunch" instead of "brunch" ;)

According to https://github.com/recena you are working in CB and the latest releases/merges are done by CB employers.
It should be enough to ask them to grant/bless you permissions.

But if it possible i will prefer to see releases from somebody that has more experience because this plugins has 112787 installations.

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your opinion.

It is funny you should know about how you know my experience. Nice!

AFAIK Manuel wants to become a maintainer on his own. It's not a part of his work at CloudBees even if it provides some added value. I definitely agree that SVN plugin is not a best plugin to start from because of the huge technical debt in this plugin. I really doubt that the plugin can be returned to a healthy state without serious efforts from multiple contributors.

I think that we should honor Manuel's readiness to start working on this direction. If there is no other candidates willing to maintain the plugin (Hello to jenkinsci/core), I suppose we should agree with the ownership and help Manuel with his ramp-up.

It should be enough to ask them to grant/bless you permissions.

I disagree, because there is no official maintainer of the plugin. So it was a right approach to send the e-mail to the developers list.

Starting from 1.8 svn release it mainly supported by christ66. And the right approach will be firstly ask him and the most latest contributors.
