Hello dear contributors!

The Jenkins infra team recently received a request (https://github.com/jenkins-infra/helpdesk/issues/2833) to change the default display URL for ci.jenkins.io.

The goal of the request is to ensure that when you click on a GitHub check link related to ci.jenkins.io, then you are redirect to the classic Jenkins UI (instead of Blue Ocean).

Blue Ocean is still kept in ci.jenkins.io as it is still used by many (and provides features that does not exist on the classic UI as for today).

But since Blue Ocean is not really well maintained, chanigng the default display link would centralize the actual contribution UI effort on the classic UI by... using it !

Are there any voices (and if yes: why?) against this change for ci.jenkins.io?

For the infra-team,

Damien DUPORTAL

+1 for changing the default URL.

If I'm navigating through the checks' integration on GitHub, I almost always copy the URL to remove the "/display/redirect" part to not end up on the blue ocean view.

Hey,

I think it makes sense to default to classic Jenkins.
It could also be interesting to monitor for the coming month how many people still use blueocean by looking at the url  ci.jenkins.io/blue/*
