Using a parameterized variables in java-based buildstep-plugin.

Hi,

I'm trying to use the parameterized variables (defined in a job configuration), from an updated jenkins-plugin (eloyente1.4).
But i'm having trouble understanding how these parameters are saved, and more specificly how they're used.
I was actually hoping that these variables will be added to the environment variables, but they're not.
I also tried looking up some documentation regarding this topic, but i can't seem to find it!

Does anyone has an idea, how i can pass the parameters to the payload.
So that the variables are dereferenced properly?
Any other documentation on this topic would be appreciated highly!
