Embedding webpage in the main page

I would like to display simple information to the users, and it would be nice to be able to display that in the area where the views are. So that I could create a side bar link and then display some information in the view. Is there any workaround currently for doing that?

sectioned-view-plugin with text section? this is what you need?

Yes, that will be a good solution. But it's not possible to have html section, right?

Yes, you have "full" html support for the text sections.
