Hi all,
I'm a final year student pursuing Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian School of Mines (IIT), Dhanbad.
I have used (currently using jenkins 1.42), studied and analyzed Jenkins and I think I would be a good fit for the above project based on the prior experiences in Amazon, WebEngage and many other projects. I'm a Full-Stack developer having expertise in Java and JavaScript. I have attached my resume to showcase the projects I have done.
I'm really sorry for being late to propose the project as I was occupied in organizing HackfestISM, annual hackathon of my college.
I have read the project details and I have few queries :
In the doc it is specified that the project should be done by 2-3 students. Can I do it alone ?
For the data storage part, what are the data stores to be supported e.g. Cassandra, elasticsearch, etc.

By alone, I mean can I work on all the 3 projects myself ? I think I will be able to do it.
what is your opinion?
Regards,
Ankit

Hi Ankit,
No problem with the delay, there is enough time to discuss the proposal.
In the doc it is specified that the project should be done by 2-3 students. Can I do it alone ?
It depends on the proposal scope. Once you have a proposal draft, we will be able to provide an feedback on the possibility.
Please also note that there other students working on proposals for this project. We cannot provide any feedback on projects timeslots or acceptance estimations, but please keep in mind that there is no "solo" projects in Jenkins GSoC. You will be expected to communicate with developers working on related areas (core and plugins) in any case.
Every student will have his own responsibility area and definition-of-done. We will try to avoid interlocks between students. Currently you can consider that you work alone during yout
For the data storage part, what are the data stores to be supported e.g. Cassandra, elasticsearch, etc.
It should be determined during the project proposal discussion. Elasticsearch looks a good option for me, but you are eligible to propose technologies you like.
Are you also working on your thesis? GSoC presumes 40 hour/week involvement, so it may be complicated to work in parallel on your thesis.
BR, Oleg

Hi Ankit,
We have not seen you at GSoC office hours. Are you still planning to apply for the project? If yes, it makes sense to do it ASAP, because March 24 is a deadline.
Best regards, Oleg Nenashev
