Mirror in Singapore

Hello

I'm the admin of mirror.freedif.org, mirroring several opensources projects like LibreOffice, KDE, LinuxMint,...

I have some spare bandwidth and space in Singapore (1GBPS) and I would be pleased to offer support to Jenkins to serve Singapore and nearby countries (East Asia)

If this will support the project, please let me know

Yes, having a mirror in Singapore would be really helpful! Sorry we didn't respond earlier, I've opened yesterday an help desk issue about it to include it in our tasks list: https://github.com/jenkins-infra/helpdesk/issues/2901

Hi Karibu!

We would be really happy to have a mirror hosted by your services !

The procedure would be the following:

• You need at least 500 Gb of disk space, ideally 750 Gb (reference is around 480 Gb used today)
• You should retrieve the data at least daily, with rsync protocol from one of these servers:
  • rsync://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/jenkins/
  • rsync://ftp-nyc.osuosl.org/jenkins/
  • rsync://ftp.yz.yamagata-u.ac.jp/pub/misc/jenkins/
  • rsync://esme.gruenehoelle.nl/mirror/jenkins/
  • rsync://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/jenkins/
  • rsync://mirror.xmission.com/jenkins/
  • rsync://ftp-chi.osuosl.org/jenkins/
• You have to provide the following dowload protocols:
  • HTTPS (mandatory as it is the minimum required) with a public domain name resolved by all world DNS and a TLS certificate recognized by the JVM usual ca-certificate
  • Rsync (optional, but as a courtesy to help other mirror to spread the load)
  • FTP (optional, to cover legacy systems)

If it is ok for you, once you have done the initial data import + published one of the download services, can you communicate to use the URL of each the service(s) you provide, so we can add your mirror in our redirectotion database.
