5.      Theme: “Creating Together a Better World towards Human Security and Sustainability”

6.      Further Description of the program content (also refer to the attachment 1)

The study tour will include welcome reception, keynote lecture, field visits, focused discussion, and workshop.  The program will aim to offer a platform to discuss what the young leaders of East Asia can/should do to realize a sustainable society consists of different social aspects.

Reflecting the Tohoku earthquake (and Tsunami) of Japan on March 11, discussions will touch upon not only natural but also manmade disasters/difficulties which entail topic of peace building, conflict resolution, peace building, community development, and human security.

7.      Assignments: There may be small amount of assignments upon your participation which will be informed by organizers.

We understand that the professional specialty is different for every alumnus; we try to organize the event that covers common topic to all. However, as you know the programme have been tackling different topics and it is quite a challenge to set a topic that is relevant or directly related to the specialty of each JENESYS group.

The topic set forth for this program, after many revisions, covers broad theme of ‘sustainable society’ by highlighting specific themes under the category of ‘natural disaster and man made disaster/problem’.  We do hope that you will find the topic attractive and that you will decide to take part.

We assume that it will be a great opportunity to share your ideas, gain new outlooks, and make concrete plans with fellow participants from other countries, other batches, toward a positive shared future of East Asia.
