Deal all,

By way of introduction, my name is Bram Pitoyo, a freelance digital
account planner. About six months ago, I had tried to organize a
similar session on Saturdays with little success.

But recently, a local web app called Shizzow (http://shizzow.com/) has
been launched for the same purpose as Jelly: to make it easier for
freelance workers (originally, it was a group of developers) to be
able to easily find each other and cowork around a space.

Since then, I’ve been coworking with a group of diverse talents about
half the week, mostly at Urban Grind NW in the early to late afternoon
(14th & Kearney St., we usually sit at the back table.) We don’t call
this Jelly (I knew about this group this afternoon via Twitter), but
we do meet and get productive.

The only downside to doing it at Urban Grind NW, obviously, is that
you have to buy something to stay there. But the wifi is fast, and the
environment ideal.

So if you’re trying to organize the next Jelly, I personally invite
you to visit and join forces (regardless of where the venue may be.) I
find that coworking with more people increased my energy level and
productivity.

Thanks!

Hi Bram -- I have been trying Shizzow, and I can't see the use for a
realtime way to find more than a friend or two, and for that it seems
much more cumbersome and less efficient than Twitter.

There are lots of coffee shops for working -- most of the ones I've
seen will be friendly for at least a couple of hours. But you end up
trying to make phone calls over the din of espresso machines and
Portishead albums played too loudly. I did get a note from the Shizzow
people a little while ago, saying that they were going to add an SMS
gateway to get more like Twitter in terms of usability.

Anything you can think of that I'm missing about Shizzow?

Isaac,

If your friends, or anyone in the Jelly group wants an invite code to
Shizzow, I have quite a bit left, and would be more than happy to get
you in the app, so your process of finding coworking venues/partners
can be expediated.

I found that Shizzow is really useful when I used the “Nearby People”
feature. They could be found on the right sidebar of a venue’s page,
under “statistics.”

Hey Bram, I'll put a Shizzow invite code to work if you've got spare.
