Watchtower magazine changes

Just wanted to let any of you know who haven't heard.

The Watchtower magazine starting January 2008 is going to change.
There will no longer be two issues offered to the public only one.
There is still going to be two issues per month, but only one will go
out for public distribution and the other one will be for dedicated
and active members only.

So there will be only one set of mags for the public per month.

Now why do they need a special one for members only?  I think that is very creepy and what are they trying to hide this time??  Yet another control issue!

ok let me guess....this will be presented to the rank and file as
something special just for them---some sort of 'meatier' issue with
important study articles not appropriate for unbelievers--probably
more propaganda to continue preaching or contributing funds. But the
real reason is because no one wants the magazines and they are going
broke printing them up just to have them trashed...

I've read that the one for the public will more closely resemble

the Awake and the one for JWs will have four study articles in

it.  One JW actually said that if you aren't at the KH to get

your copy, tough.  I don't know that he knew what he was

talking about, but it sounded as if these are going to be handed

out or sold to the JWs just once per month.

 

The JWs are all hepped up, thinking the end is very near and

this is Jehovah's way of telling them so.  They are saying that

they need to be working harder in order to bring in more people.

 

Same old stuff.

Oh, yeah...right....because the end is so close. (rolling eyes) How about that the WTS is trying to save money by cutting down on printing costs, as well as keeping the more ridiculous doctrinal issues away from "apostates."

I think the WTS finally knows they are in for the long haul. The world
isn't going to end anytime soon, in fact, with the population boom,
the longest life expectancy and lowest infant mortality rates ever,
things have actually been getting a lot better.
