JEF Europe spring FC in Leuven, Belgium

Dear JEF Belgium members,

As you might have heard already, the JEF Europe spring Federal Committee meeting (FC) will be organised in Belgium on the 20-22nd of april in Leuven.

The FC is where the political lines of JEF Europe are being discussed, and so it is the very pinnacle of JEF-organisational democracy. 

The fact that the FC is organised in Belgium provides a fantastic opportunity for yourself and your JEF-engagement.

For those of you that don't really know how an FC works:

Every national section can send one delegate to the FC. This delegate can vote during the discussions on resolutions and political positions of JEF Europe, and will be selected from the bureau of JEF Belgium as the representative of the organisation.

Every national section can also send observers. While these observers cannot vote in the final round of the discussions, they can participate in the discussions in the political commissions (there are 3 political commissions (PC): institutions and governance, Internal EU policy, and external affairs & global governance). that way, the observers fulfill two important functions: they inform the delegates about the discussions in the PC they have attended, and they can influence the discussions by intervening.

It doesn't happen often that an FC is being organised in Belgium. JEF Belgium would therefore like to encourage you to register as an observer for the FC.

- will be able to see how JEF works on the European level, 

- will be able to meet JEFfers from all over Europe, 

-  will be able to provide leverage for JEF Belgium during the discussions in the PC's

- will enjoy the party afterwards and the atmosphere during the weekend! 

The registration fee for the FC as an observer is 80 euros. 

(Full board and accommodation from Friday evening 20 April (dinner included) until Sunday midday 22 April (lunch included) will be provided for the delegates and observers).

If you do not require lodging, the fee might be lowered.

Please consult the agenda for the FC to get an idea for what it will look like.
