As some of you already noticed, the next JEF FC is coming closer and JEF Belgium is looking for a delegation. Some basic informations:

What is the FC?

For more information on what the FC - Federal Committee is - check here. Many of you who were at the last FC meeting in April in Leuven, which was co-organised by JEF Belgium/JEF Leuven, know that an FC is thé ideal mix of politics and fun, where you learn how the European level of the organisation works, participate in discussions on our political stances and the future of Europe, and enjoy socialising with +30 different nationalities of JEFfers.

How can I represent JEF Belgium in the FC?

By joining our delegation as observer. As observer, you practically have the same role as the FC-members; but no vote. JEF Belgium's national delegate is our President Peter Oomsels and he will thus carry our vote. We will have a special meeting with the whole delegation before the FC to discuss the proposed resolutions and agree on a common JEF Belgium stance, which we will lobby/defend during the plenary sessions! 

Can I create JEF policies too?

That is highly encouraged! If you would have a great idea for a resolution yourself, don't hesitate to enlighten us. Information on writing a resolution can be found here. Deadline for resolutions is 5 October.

What is special about this particular FC?

We are celebrating JEF's 40th birthday on Friday 26 October 2012 in Copenhagen, just before the FC-weekend. The celebration day (9am - 10pm) will be co-organised by JEF Denmark and consist workshops and debates about the past, present and future of Europe, as well as an opening event and a gala in the evening!

OK, how can I join?

You have two options:

1. Participate ONLY in the FC meeting (arrival on Friday 26 October, departure 28 October in the afternoon).

The participation fee of 80 EUR is to be paid by bank transfer within 8 days after receipt of confirmation.

Unless further notice to the accepted delegates and observers, NO travel costs can be reimbursed!

2. Participate BOTH in the 40th Anniversary event AND to the FC meeting (arrival on Thursday 25 October, departure 28 October afternoon).
The participation fee of 80 EUR is to be paid by bank transfer within 8 days after receipt of confirmation.
Thanks to the support of JEF-Denmark, there will be PARTIAL travel costs reimbursement for participants attending BOTH the 40th anniversary celebration event and the FC (50% up to maximum 100 EUR).
