Jeevika Asia Livelihood Documentary Festival brings to light policies and regulations that limit livelihood freedom of the rural and urban poor. By encouraging documentary makers to find interest in livelihood issues and providing them a platform to share their experiences and creativity, the festival hopes:
-
To strengthen the freedom struggle of the poor
-
Change attitudes and mindsets of many towards inclusive and sustainable development
-
Advocate for liberalisation at the bottom of the pyramid
Over the years, the festival has won support from celebrities like Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Subhash Ghai, Deepti Naval, Nandita Das, Rahul Bose, Shabana Azmi and Murali Kartik who have been ambassadors of our festival. The 11th year will be bigger and better!
