We invite all documentary film makers - students, amateurs and professionals - to send in their entries to one of the most unique film festivals - the 11th Annual Jeevika: Asia Livelihood Documentary Festival. Awards will be awarded for the following categories:
Jeevika, CCS’ livelihood initiative, is geared at achieving greater livelihood freedom for the rural and urban poor. It aims to further public policy measures to clear the path for free enterprise by eradicating market entry and exit barriers to promote individual livelihood for street entrepreneurs (i.e. street hawkers, cycle rickshaw pullers, small shop owners etc.). To complement our advocacy efforts, CCS hosts an annual Asia-wide documentary festival to capture the livelihood challenges faced by the rural and urban poor. The festival brings to light policies and regulations that curb livelihood freedom of the poor. Over the years, the festival has provided a unique platform to filmmakers and disseminated information about livelihood trials and tribulations. The festival has won support from celebrities like Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Subhash Ghai, Deepti Naval, Nandita Das, Rahul Bose and Shabana Azmi.
