iJustice invites you to a two-day international conference on Law and Liberty on 18-19 September at O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonepat (Haryana).
The conference is being hosted in partnership with The Federalist Society, Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) and Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP). The conference is being organised to give a platform for libertarian thought and to introduce a fresh perspective focused on the rule of law and individual liberty.
Highlights:
- Results of the winner of our research paper competition, evaluating student research on the status of rule of law and individual liberty in India
- A discussion on Liberty vs. Equality with Prof. Satya Prateek, of the Centre on Public Law & Jurisprudence, Jindal Global Law School (JGLS); Prof. Shruti Rajgopalan, of Purchase College, State University of New York; and Prof. Harsimran Kalra of Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP).
- A panel on Separation of Powers consisting of Prof. Saikrishna Prakash of University of Virginia, Arghya Sengupta of Vidhi Centre for Law and Policy, and Shubho Roy, from the National Institute for Public Finance and Policy.
- A critical examination of Individual Rights v. Minority Rights with Vikramjit Banerjee, Advocate at Supreme Court of India; Gautam Bhatia, Rhodes Scholar, Author and Advocate, and James Kelly, of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies in the USA.
- Prof. James Huffman of Lewis and Clarke Law School and Prof. Khagesh Gautam, of the Centre on Public Law and Jurisprudence at JGLS on Property Rights.
- A keynote address by Professor Michael C. Davis, Visiting Professor, University of Hong Kong.
