Shortlisted participants? When were participants short-listed for the Jeevika Law Competition? I was not aware of such a workshop for short-listed participants.

@ Vikrant: Probably Amit is right they would be releasing results on 2 May only after the ipolicy workshop ends.Just to answer your query,  the organisers did shortlist the Top-20 participants and they got the offer to attend the workshop from 29-2 May.

@ Organisers of Jeevika: However, I wanted to ask whether non-attendance by shortlisted candidates had any bearing on the results?

Dear Sir,
I was shortlisted in the top twenty students but due to
start of term end examinations in my college I was unable to attend
the workshop as I have my exam on 1st and 3rd may so it was highly
impossible for me to join the workshop.I hope my certificate and the
prize can be sent to me at my address via speed post or courier and my
inability to come to workshop shall not be a hinder in this regard.

It's extremely disappointing that the results have neither been put on your website nor posted in this group...it's one thing to not get selected and another to not get access to the results...it's unfortunate to see that the organizers have little regards for the participants and their enthusiastic support...when it's expressly declared on your website that the results will be announced on 30th, it seems that the organizers have themselves broken the rules of participation...I'm disheartened to say that this lackluster approach may only dampen your wonderful and extraordinary endeavors and smother our spirits for any future associations.

 Result is out last evening, But they did not give 1st prize to any participant, because according to Jury( external judges) no essay is up to that standard which they are looking for  in essay.

But i have no detail about the winners with me.

I think the jury didn't find the quality of essays they were looking for...probably because the subheads were really broad and generalized leaving little scope of narrowing the context and following through with a concrete idea to the conclusion (the rules state:"Order of the subheads is left to the choice of participants but ignoring any of them may result in disqualification,")

The subheads included: laws, regulations as well as social, religious and cultural practices, analysis of the economic, social and cultural status, suggestions for legal, regulatory as well as social and cultural reforms and innovate comments minus the introduction and conclusion which itself consumes not less than 600 to 1000 words.) With 5000 as the word limit, we were in dire need to be more succinct than we wanted. I wish the subhead would've been mere guidelines rather than rules with punitive consequences, maybe that would've better served our purposes.

At the very outset I congratulate all the winners! Whereas, I agree with Deepak, What is still disappointing is that other participants were not informed about any such short-listing.  Maybe next year's competition will use sub-headings only as guidelines/suggestions and will not be made compulsory. Also, the word limit will be decided wisely.

Apologies for inconvenience. Few key members of the organising team dealing with essay competition were unavailable or busy with some other work with high priority and therefore the promises couldn't meet the timeline. We do understand the inconvenience occurred to you and wish to have sincere apologies.

Everything as promised earlier would be completed by Jun 15. Certificates would be posted to your postal address mentioned in registration/applications. The list would also be published. In case you have any change in your postal address please mail.
