This summer Antral/अंतराल invites you all to participate and contribute in the process of Social Change. “Save the girl child” is the theme Antral/अंतराल has chosen to work upon in the adivasi region of Jharkhand.  It is a wake-up call for all Organizations, Individuals, Social Workers, Activists and institutions who all have some feelings and vision for making the world community a more livable and beautiful place. 

Why should we Save the Girl Child in Jharkhand ?

•      Besides having a serene beauty of nature.

•      Some of the harsh realities are that Jharkhand is No.1 for girls early marriages in India. The average age for marriage of girls is 15 years.

•      Nearly 30,000 girls and women from Jharkhand are trafficked to cities for prostitution every year (Source: Ministry of women and child development).

•      Female literacy rate in the rural area is 46.62%. Girls specifically drop-out after 8^th and 10^th class.

•      It is high time in Jharkhand now.

•      Here our aim is to save the girl child from early marriages and  trafficking with help of Sakhi/सखी.
