KALAM KI BAAT
A writing workshop in collaboration with The Kali Writes Project

NOVEMBER 27 to 29, 2015

Sambhaavnaa Institute is holding a creative writing workshop in collaboration with The Kali Writes Project. As a part of its writing series, the project helps the individual explore catharsis, in one’s own language of comfort and feeling. The workshops seek to help women and men appreciate their own true selves by writing to themselves, and thence, to a wider audience.

The program aims at giving people a voice and an alternative of pursuing writing as a tangible occupation. It is hoped that the participant would find their liberation through the written word, instead of pushing oneself to become a literary enigma overnight. The three-day workshop is open to all, ages 16 and above, and will be conducted in Hindi and English however participants can learn the writing process in the language(s) that they are comfortable writing in. This will be held on the Sambhaavnaa Campus, Palampur, Himachal.

The workshop aims at exploring:

- one's own latent ability to write, tapping imaginations through the immediate surroundings
- seeing beauty in another, while also being able to recognise one's own inner beauty, which is essential to healing and therefore, well-being
- perceptions of the body and the idea of freedom
- one's own biases as well as privileges

- discovering compassion for the self and the other
